Travel: Bob’s Bridge

Bob's Bridge - the great joining of Nebraska and Iowa!

Bob’s bridge joins Nebraska and Iowa and spans across the Missouri River for a total of 0.9 kilometres. Visit at night when it’s cool and the lights reflect off the water. Okay, photo time!

Check out this welcome sign – there are a few on the bridge – and you better bet I got stickers!

The bridge is beautiful at night, and it’s not as busy, either.

The Nebraska side has a lot of seating, where as the Iowa side has a lot more art. Check out this tin guy.

Iowa Art!

I initially thought he was made out of tinfoil, yet there was no way that would hold up, right? Well, upon close look, he’s made out of aluminum to-go containers. So close!

The best part of the bridge is the line between Nebraska and Iowa. The bridge has lights which help when you’re taking standing photos. I took some with a flash and others without.

It’s fun to take a late night walk, people watch, and then check out an ice cream shop afterwards. The Old Market has some great places! From our hotel in downtown, it took us about 15 minutes to walk there, and then about 30 minutes to walk to Iowa and back. That sounds funny, walking to Iowa and back. Haha.

Well, there you have it, Bob’s Bridge and some night photos. If you do walk the bridge, be sure you snap a few photos and visit the Omaha Visitor’s Centre. Not only are they super nice and friendly, they’ll give you a sticker for walking across Bob!

Thanks so much for stopping by, wishing you happy travels. Travelling is so awesome, I’m so happy to be packing my bags again soon, there’s something peaceful about knowing a trip is right around the corner.

Bye for now!
