Travel: Family Mart Japan

Family Mart Japan

Family Mart Japan is one of the best paces to grab breakfast if you want to eat like a local. For us, it’s perfect for snacks. They’ve got plenty of C.C. Lemon and some awesome eats I’ll share below.

What’s your go-to convenience store?!

First, if you’re looking to check out a website, Family Mart does have one! Second, for breakfast, many will grab onigiri – Bryce tried it once and wasn’t a huge fan. For me, I stuck with oatmeal.

Second, there are Family Marts all over the place. Lawson’s, too, however, we preferred the selection at Family Mart.

Okay, time for snacks. Google Translate makes it really easy to decipher the ingredients on some of the items. Flat out, my favourite was the caramel popcorn. So good, so salty, and just enough sweetness.

The chocolate covered peanuts were a treat, too. Just don’t backpack with them all day in the sun, they do melt!

Okay, here are some of my favourites. They range from $1.20 a piece up to $1.50 a piece. Not very expensive at all, especially compared to when we were in Australia. Also, everything below is gluten free and I didn’t have a single reaction while in Japan. Good to go from my perspective – yet do read ingredients, as you know, things change over time.

Well, we even had two Family Marts in the area while visiting the zoo in Osaka (another post on the zoo later). It’s nice since we knew we weren’t ever far from a snack.

Well, there you have it, a few of our favourite eats from Family Mart. They’re good for a quick bite, grabbing items for the train, or even snacks to take back to your hotel. All in all, Family Mart is fantastic!

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to grab a snack or two this week!
