Travel: Golden Bell Homestay Hoi An
In Hoi An we stayed at the Golden Bell Homestay – such a great location. It is halfway between the beach and Old Town. Since in May, when we visited, it was about 104 degrees or 40 for my Canadian followers, which meant short bikes trips were best. Oh and water – the beach saved us.
Okay – this little place is adorable. They offer great wifi and offer complimentary breakfast – such a great selection of fruit. They also offer free bikes (with lights and locks) making it easy to get around.
Golden Bell Homestay
We stayed on the 3rd floor – just like the Hello House in Ho Chi Minh City, this place didn’t have a lift. I didn’t mind one bit, yet trip advisor reviewers seem to mind a lot. They are pretty clear about not having one, though.
The room was spacious and clean. The big bed was a huge plus.
I loved that they had a tub. This was one of the few places (the only other was in Siem Reap, actually) that had a tub. The shower head was super odd, though, in the middle of the shower. No complaints, just different.
My favourite part about the Golden Bell Homestay? The view. Look out that window! Vietnam is quite beautiful.
Overall we had an enjoyable time at the Golden Bell Homestay. Warm hospitality, coupled with a bit of pushiness regarding shopping, yet that’s to be expected at any place in Hoi An. Most hotel staff get a kick-back from tailors for sending guests their way. I would recommend them if you’re travelling to the area any time soon. Thanks for visiting and happy travelling!
