Travel: Hampton by Hilton Doha Old Town
The Hampton by Hilton Doha Old Town is in the best location, especially for all the sights we wanted to see. It’s walking distance to the souq, the National Museum of Qatar, and the Museum of Islamic Art. Plus, the rooms are clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. Let’s check out our little hideaway.
Hampton by Hilton Doha Old Town
First up, it’s secure and a short distance from the airport. The building is tall and skinny, giving you great views of downtown if you get a north facing room.
The room itself is nice – I enjoy when a hotel has tile floor more so than carpet. For me, it’s a cleanliness thing.
The washroom was nice and large and the shower was hot. The one downside was the rooms were very close together – check out how close these doors are!
Breakfast was included, although we only took advantage once. It’s good, yet standard – fruit like apples and bananas, and they also had waffles, eggs, potatoes, and bacon. I loved that they had yogurt, for me that’s a win!
The lobby was nice, too – a lot of room and they had snacks, too! The best part about the lobby is the space to hang out, we saw a lot of hotel guests hanging out and playing cards in this area, it was fun to see.
Overall, the Hampton by Hilton Doha Old Town is a great place to stay if you’re in Qatar.
For us, location is a huge factor and this place is great. Plus, all the uber drives know the area and they had an easy time picking and dropping us off. Oh, and there’s a gas station around the corner for more snacks, haha. I should also mention that the air conditioning is also great here, which is key for us northern Canadians. We like to stay cool (although minus 50 in the winter is far too cool).
Okay, thanks for stopping by and safe travels!
