Travel: Miquelon Lake Hike
Miquelon Lake hike – it’s about a 9km hike if you do the full grouse loop, and you can take various paths through Chickadee, Deer Loop, as well as Ermine and Fox Loop. The best part about this provincial park is that it’s only about 20 minutes from our house! Such a perfect little location to get out and about without a long drive.
We first checked out this hike on Easter and it took us about 1 hour and 45 minutes. The perfect amount of time to explore on the weekend.
Daphne loves hiking. New smells, wild animals and fresh air – what could be better?!
Miquelon Lake Hike
On this hike we ventured all the way to the end of the park limits. It felt a little bit like we were in Westworld walking to the edge of the park. Such a little sign!
Such a beautiful day and crisp spring air is the best.
On our way around the long part of Grouse Loop we came across an abandon hut – looked to me like it might have been used as a little home or a trading post, I’m not too sure. Either way, Daphne enjoyed checking it out.
On our Miquelon Lake hike we saw about a handful of deer – on Deer Loop, nonetheless! We also saw some ground chickens, a moose and her baby and various types of birds. So fun! We walked quickly by the moose as not to frighten her, so I didn’t get any photos.
Well, there you have it – one little Alberta hike. Get out, have fun and be sure you bring your dog if you have one. Daphne didn’t want to leave, but she sure slept the whole way home!
Look at her, she wants to stay and continue exploring. Such a sweetheart.
Thanks so much for visiting and I’ll see you again soon. Bye and happy hiking!
