Travel: Mission Reef Resort

Mission Reef Resort is a quaint little place in Mission Beach. It’s low frills, yet priced well. Out of all the places we stayed, it had the least amenities, but for two nights it was worth it!

We stayed in a Motel Studio while at Mission Reef Resort mainly because we knew we didn’t need many amenities. They had a BBQ and Mission Beach is home to some of the best Thai food we’ve ever had, so we didn’t need to cook much. The room was cool (thank you south facing window!) and the bed was comfortable. Plus, everything was very clean.

Parking is a little tight, so don’t fret if you have to street park.

One of my favourite features was all the plant life – so much greenery!

When Bryce and I hiked the West Coast Trail we spent a night in Bamfield after the 5 day hike and the motel didn’t have cable, but they did have a sign out system for DVDs. Mission Reef Resort does have cable, but also a massive selection of DVDs if you’re in need of some down time. It brought back some fun memories for us.

While in Mission Beach we did a lot of hiking, so the pool was a great place to relax and the shades help keep the sun at bay.

Overall, the room was good – it got the job done and we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel is centrally located, a short walk to the beach, and in a great neighbourhood. If you’re looking to spend a bit more than 3-4 days in Mission Beach, then check out the 1-2 bedroom apartments, since you’ll get more room and enjoy if you’ve got a longer stay.
