Travel: Old Market
Old Market in Omaha is full of brick streets, brick buildings, and old charm. From local coffee shops, to an awesome art scene, this place is full of delicious eats and pubs. Let’s check out some photos.
Old Market
Our hotel, we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott, was about 2 blocks away, just on the other side of The River Front. So we spent a lot of time in Omaha’s historic area. We had dinners here, got lunch, and even at ice cream a few times!
The Old Market hosts the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays – I was a bit surprised at the lack of fruit, but then again, I have to remember that we were in Nebraska. Even in Edmonton we get so much fruit from BC. Remember all those peaches and cherries? Oh, so good. This market was good, too – I picked up some of the best GF bread (sorry, no photo) – and check out these heirloom tomatoes.
All in all, the Farmer’s Market is worth checking out!
One of my favourite things about the Old Market is the buildings – look at all that brick!
It’s even beautiful at night.
Like I said above, so many art shops – you can explore some awesome galleries – I was so impressed with the art scene in Omaha. Honestly, I had no idea! It’s like all the sculptural art at The River Front, just so wonderful.
Below is a garden that’s out back – yet the interior of the building is just as beautiful.
As you can see, the area is about 20 blocks – so give yourself a bit of time to explore, enjoy, and eat!
Overall, it’s worth the visit.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a good one – happy Saturday and enjoy your weekend.
See you again soon. Bye!
