Travel: Qatar Airways

Qatar Airways – the Worlds Best Airline, for 8 years! That’s right, we flew this iconic airline in and out of Doha, Qatar. We flew from Manama, Bahrain to Doha, Qatar, and then from Doha, Qatar to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The airline is great, the staff are friendly, yet it’s also an airline. Nothing overly special that we experienced to put them in the limelight. Now, we didn’t fly business class, nor on a long haul flight. With that, I’ll share some photos – the Doha, Qatar airport, however, is stunning!

Qatar Airways

First up, Skytrax named Qatar Airways the best airline of 2024 for three key reasons: they have quality service, modern aircraft, and offer high-end amenities such as fine cuisine and comfort lounges. We didn’t experience the high-end features, yet the aircraft was certainly new and the service was excellent (dare I say, way better than WestJet, yet similar to our experience with Air Canada).

Like I said in the beginning, though, the airport in Doha is incredible. If you’re a Formula 1 fan, you’ll see a bunch of advertisements for various drivers, primarily Lewis Hamilton. The watch ads are wild!

On both our incoming and outbound flight we took a bus out to the loading tarmac since the airport doesn’t have vastly weather to contend with – it reminded me of boarding the plane in my small home town of Sault Ste. Marie! We have to walk out even in the snow.

Well, there you have it – the OneWorld award winning airline, Qatar Airways. If you’re looking for a reliable air carrier, then Qatar is it, however, if you’re looking for something above and beyond, know you’ll probably only get that in business class. Happy flying.
