Travel: Sunrise on the Beach
Sunrise on the beach in Australia. This is Cape Hillsborough and it’s an incredible place to watch the sunrise and perhaps catch a kangaroo or two snacking.
For those of you who use Microsoft 365, you might recognize this place – I didn’t have it pop up on my work screen until sometime in January, but I was so excited when it did. I was like, I know that place! Okay, let’s check out some photos.
Sunrise on the Beach
We woke up around 4:55am to catch the sunrise scheduled for about 5:10 – super early, I know! Be sure to bundle up, since the morning moon air is far colder than expected and we live in northern Alberta.
If you look closely below you can see the two kangaroos.
The mix of sun and clouds is just perfect – so beautiful.
It’s wild to think that the sun comes up 365 days a year and we often don’t take the time to notice. Not that it’s a bad thing, it’s just when I do slow down and watch, I’m in awe of how fast it happens and how beautiful the sunrise is – simply wild.
So many kangaroos below! They hop so fast. Yet I have something a bit unpleasant to share – when you see them in the dark like this, the two on the left side of the pack – what do they look like to you? To me, they look like rats. Strange how the mind works. In northern Alberta deer can be pests, eating crops and doing a lot of damage. I’ve heard that kangaroos are similar in Australia. Interesting, eh? Okay, back to more photos of the sun!
Here we are with limited light – all bundled up and happy as can be!
Well, there you have it a sunrise on the beach! Thanks for visiting and happy sun watching on the beach. See you again soon.
