McBrides Lookout

McBrides Lookout hike in Cape Hillsborough National Park, Australia. Check out this lookout! It’s beautiful. The hike is perfect for an afternoon leg stretch as it’s a 2km and just under 100m in elevation. Should take you about 40 minutes to hike up and out, depending on how much time you take at the lookout points. Okay, let’s check out some photos!

Oh, before I forget, the trail is on All Trails: McBrides Lookout if you’re interested.

Our hike started on the beach – check out the view!

Okay, a big tip is to follow the signs. There are quite a few trails in Cape Hillsborough National Park – this is where we did most of our hiking (usually 2 a day), and the cell coverage is weak!

Check out this cane toad – did you know they’re poisonous? I had no idea until Bryce told me. Then again, it’s Australia, so it’s safe to say most things are poisonous, right?!

Watching where you step, and keeping an eye out for critters, be sure to stop at the look outs! It’s worth it.

See how high up we are?! Looks higher than 88 meters up, that’s for sure. Be sure to wear a hat, sunscreen, and bug spray – staying safe is key.

This is such a great trail – with steps and lookouts, the 2km flies by – it’s one of my favourite little hikes in Australia. Okay, let’s peak at a few more photos.

Well, there you have it – a great look at McBrides Lookout. It’s so short we didn’t even bring water, yet the sun wasn’t out, so not a big deal. If the sun is out, and it’s hot, be sure you have water! It’s not much fun being without when you need it.

I’ll leave you with this panoramic view of the lookout – it’s just stunning.
