Tutorial: Wide Headband
Love my headband tutorial? Well, this one is inspired by the trending wide headband. This project is quick…start to finish in 20 minutes!
What You Need
- jersey fabric 20-22 inches (measure around your head and minus 1 inch) by 7 inches
- matching thread
- scissors
- machine
First – ensure the grain (the part with the most stretch) is the part that is 22 inches.
Now, fold your fabric in half, so it measures 11 by 7.
On the open end (not the fold) measure in on each side by 1.5 inches and make a mark. Measure 5.5 inches along the long part and draw a line straight across. Measure in 1 inch along the line you just made. Now starting at the folded end, one inch down, make a mark. Now, match up all 3 marks and cut. Open up and put right sides together, lengthwise.
Stitch.
Turn right side out and press.
Now, to sew up the end. Put right sides together (it’s a bit tricky) and stitch as you would an infinity scarf, as far as you can. You’ll be left with a little hole – slip stitch it closed.
Iron, ensuring the seam is in the middle of the inside.
Done. Time to wear it!
Wear it high or wear it low.
Wear it with your hair up or with your hair down.

Happy Wednesday.
