    Sewing: Week Twenty Summer Skirt

Summer skirt time – this is week twenty of 52 weeks of sewing and I’ve got a ‘repair’ post today. This summer skirt is the product of the Elastic Waist Maxi. It got a hole in it while I was on vacation. I loved the long maxi skirt. I wore it about 5 times and then I sat on a stool with a nail sticking out…that was it, a hole in my skirt. Summer Skirt Time to repair and turn it into a shorter summer…

    Project: Inspiration

Inspiration – time to reflect. Travelling to Southeast Asia was amazing and I’ve slept a lot in the last week since being home – it takes some time to readjust and get back into the swing of things. That, however, isn’t exactly what I want to do. I don’t want to just slip back into my life, but rather jump in more aware, less stressed, and with a clear perspective. Life is grand. In and of itself, it’s a beautiful thing. I met people who…

    Sewing: Week Nineteen Jumpsuit

Jumpsuit time – for week nineteen of 52 weeks of sewing. This jumpsuit is perfect for spring and summer. Dress it up or dress it down. I follow the McCall’s pattern 6083 pretty closely except for two things and I’ll fill you in on those right away. Jumpsuit One – I add about 1 inch to the top (all pieces, the back and both fronts) and add 1 inch to the body portion of the pants. My torso is longer than what the McCall’s pattern…

    Travel: Home Safe

Home safe and happy to be on Canadian soil, yet happier to give Lily snuggles. Awww, and to have slept in our own bed last night – so awesome. Although, I’m not too sure if staying awake for the whole 28-30 hour travel day yesterday was smart…I think it might catch up with me! Home Safe You can see that we’re quite tired in our selfie shot yesterday from the Vancouver airport as we waited to catch our third connection. The one thing that’s been…

    Travel: Hoi An Snapshot

The ancient town that was credited as a world heritage site in 1999 is full of history. Although they heavily rely on tourism and the shop owners seem to be more aggressive than any other place we’ve visited, the town is beautiful. Hoi An is a bike friendly town and our hotel has free town bikes for guests to use – it’s awesome. The odd thing is, however, that the city has more people than my home town of Sault Ste. Marie and yet I…

Travel: Ho Chi Minh City Snapshot

Ho Chi Minh City snapshot – well, the capital of Vietnam and former Saigon is home to more than 8 million people. It seems like everyone is out and about on motorbikes. Especially when it’s time to cross at a roundabout intersection. They’re so busy! Our time in HCMC was wonderful. We filled our bellies with some of the best pho and filled our hearts with memories from the War Remnants Museum. Ho Chi Minh City Snapshot We were in the city on April 30,…
