    Recipe: Dog Treats

Dog treats are the best – these ones are messy to make, but super fun to watch your puppy eat. Why dog treats? Well, it was Bella’s birthday on the weekend – she’s 9! Ingredients 1/2 cup of oats 2 spoonfuls of almond butter 1 teaspoon of honey Makes 4 clusters Mix it all together and then roll out. These adorable paper cupcake liners and fun toppers are from my husband’s mom – she thought they were cute and, since I love to make cupcakes,…

    Photos: Thanksgiving 2013

Happy Thanksgiving!! Even though it was yesterday…we’re a little late. This was the first time we (or I, rather) attempted to take some family photos. Thanksgiving 2013 Setting up – Lily is supervising. The tripod was a gift from a very kind old man who we purchased some tools off of – I highly recommend a tripod if you’re evening thinking of using your camera’s self timer. First shots – not too bad. Happy everything is in focus! Second shot (well, each shot took 10…

    Recipe: Pumpkin Spiced Bars

It’s that time of year again – fall. The leaves fall, the air gives you a chill, and everything pumpkin comes out to play. This is a bit of a mash-up of some recipes – the pretzel bottom is from my deadly brownies and my crumble topping is from September’s skillet apple crumble. So – here is what you’ll need: Ingredients Bottom 3 cups of crushed pretzels 1 cup of melted butter 1/2 cup of sugar Pumpkin Mix 2 cups of pumpkin puree 1/2 cup…

    Holiday Napkins

Thanksgiving is this weekend – at least in Canada! What a better time to buy some fun fabric and decorate your holiday table. Yesterday I found a new discount fabric store in Edmonton – and it’s huge! Score!! That’s where I found this fun wild fowl print. Perfect for Thanksgiving! Holiday Napkins So – a good sized napkin measures around 20×20. I get 4 napkins out of one meter (if it measures 45 inches wide). Be sure you’ve washed your fabric first! Set your serger…

    Fruity Juicy

This juice packs a punch – perfect for a fresh start morning. All fruit with a bit of parsley…and ginger – I don’t think ginger is a fruit! Fruity Juicy Juice it up! A great thing about this juicer, you don’t need to cut the veggies or fruit up very much…saves time! This one was so good. The green apple and the lemon add some sourness to it…mmm. Green goodness. I think it tasted like a green apple sour candy. My husband laughed at me…it’s…

    Ritz Rolo Snack

Today’s snack… Both salty and sweet! The next time you’re at the grocery store pick up a box of Ritz and some Rolos…you’ll be happy you did! Ritz Rolo Snack A box has about 60 crackers…I made 24 sandwiches…that’s how many fit on our pan. Set the oven to 350 degrees. Lay out the Ritz face down and put a rolo on each one. Bake for 9 minutes. Keep an eye on them…you don’t want the rolo to melt all over the Ritz…you just want…

    More Pillows

It’s pillow time, again! About two months ago I had a tutorial on pillow covers – it was a house warming gift for my brother. My husband saw them before I shipped them out east and he loved them. Now, we had pillows on our own couch that I made, but they weren’t that great. It was the first time I tried using a zipper and I sort of failed. They worked for a while – about 8 months. The less than par pillows were…
