Photos: Daphne Turns Four

Daphne turns four today! She’s the sweetest, silliest, and most sassy pup we’ve had and today we celebrate her. Not only does she sleep a bit more now that she’s older, she’s teaching us to slow down, take naps, and try new things. A few highlights of the past year? Read to find out!

Daphne Turns Four

Daycare

First up, a highlight is her daycare. She loves all her friends, the teachers, and all the rambunctiousness that takes place. When we travelled to Australia in November-December for four weeks, Daph-Daph had the best time at daycare. They send daily report cards and she most certainly is well taken care of – here are a few highlights of her at daycare over the year.

She loves it at daycare! From the massive tires to the custom build structures, she enjoys running, playing, and getting skritches from the teachers. I can’t explain how awesome it is to know your pet is in wonderful hands while we’re either travelling or at work. Amazing!

Food

Another thing the last year brought was a change in Daphne’s food. She’s got an allergy and now only eats salmon and potatoes – and the odd ground chicken that she catches? What? You didn’t know she caught a ground chicken? I’ll spare you the graphic photos, yet check out this one below – you can see just a bit of the chicken in her ear hair after she’s finished her meal. All in all, her new food is working well – she’s one happy pup who enjoys napping in all different places!

She’s a napping champion. From the car, to the couch, and any flat space in between, she’ll camp out and catch a few zzz’s. Daphne is just the best.

New Things

Yes, even in her old age, Daphne still tries new things. Who said you can’t teach and old dog new tricks? Well, we didn’t teach her this, but some how she found out how to get into this reading chair. Not only does she hang out there from time to time, we’ve even caught her sleeping in it overnight!

Today she got a new haircut – can you see the mullet-faux hawk down her back in the last few photos?

Well, she keeps us on our toes, enjoys early morning walks (a big change from our early days of 9am walks) and searching the bush for smells. No more leaf chasing, that’s stopped to make room for new activities, like some of the longest stretches! Check out these photos of this sweet girl, the last few taken after her haircut today!
