Recipe: BBQ Drumsticks
It’s summer! Okay, maybe not officially, but the BBQ has been fired up and we’ve it 20+ some days already. That means it’s summer, right? These BBQ drumsticks are delicious – plus, the homemade Carolina Gold BBQ sauce is just the right balance of sweet and spicy. Let’s get cooking!
Ingredients:
- 12-15 drumsticks
- Carolina Gold BBQ Sauce
That’s all you need – well, you could use store bought BBQ sauce, yet it’s not as good. Sometimes time or convenience wins, though – and that’s okay! Just be sure to pick a brand you like.
First up, make the sauce.
Next, marinate the chicken for at least 3 hours and store in the fridge.
Once the chicken drumsticks have marinated long enough, light up the BBQ until it’s nice and hot. Then, turn it down to medium.
Cook each side for about 5-7 minutes each. Yet, turn often so you don’t burn them. The BBQ sauce has sugar in it – and most do – which means there is a pretty good likelihood that it could burn black. Be sure to keep an eye on the drumsticks.
Once they’re up to temp (165) pull them off the BBQ and eat up. Eat with corn and cabbage salad, or roasted potatoes. Oh, how I love potatoes.
Well, there you have it – quick and easy BBQ drumsticks. They are so easy you can make them on a weeknight (especially if you’re working from home).
This recipe makes enough for four – eat out on the deck and enjoy a little family time. Enjoy the sun, the sound of the birds, and maybe even have a fire (if you’re allowed) and have some gluten free s’mores. Ah – the perfect summer day, one with potatoes and s’mores! Sign me up.
Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you’re having a great week! See you again soon.
