Recipe: Cinnamon Rolls
What’s for breakfast this Sunday morning? How about a treat? Cinnamon rolls it is! Yummy in my tummy.
Yeast, of course, is a vital ingredient in this recipe! Here’s what else you’ll need:
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 4.5 tablespoons of butter
- 3 1/2 cups of flour
- 1 packet of activated yeast
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup brown raw sugar
- 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup of butter…I know, more butter.
- pinch of salt
First – warm the milk and melt 4.5 tablespoon of butter in the milk – set aside. In the mixing bowl mix together half the flour, all the yeast, all the white sugar, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Mix for about 1 minute. Add in the milk and butter and the egg. Mix well for about 3 minutes. Gradually add in the remaining flour and mix for 5 minutes.
Let the dough rest for about 7 minutes. Now…make the filling.
The filling – take the remaining butter – 3/4 of a cup, the brown sugar, and the ground cinnamon. Mix well.
Now, roll out the dough. Coat the dough evenly with the cinnamon mixture – I used my hands, since anything else I tried to use started to tear up the dough.
Roll and cut. Use a sharp or serrated knife, otherwise you’ll squish the rolls. You could use floss, too – pinterest, people, pinterest.
Place the rolls into a well buttered 9×13 pan. Let stand for 25 minutes. Bake at 350 for 23-25 minutes.
The top as it comes out of the pan…
But the bottom is so much gooey-ier.
Eat it all up…leave no evidence!
Happy Sunday baking.
