Recipe: Garlic Cheesy Bread

Garlic Cheesy Bread: 3ten.ca

Garlic cheesy bread – and it’s gluten free. Basically, this is garlic bread pizza. Yes, you can cut it differently and trick someone into thinking it’s pizza – it’s that good.

Ingredients

  • Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Pizza Crust (and ingredients to make)
  • 3 cups of old cheddar cheese and pizza mozzarella
  • 1 1/2 cups of mayonnaise
  • heaping tablespoon of chopped garlic
  • 2 teaspoons of hot sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons of cornmeal

The Crust

First, the crust. I’m going to walk you through the same directions that are in my post the best gluten free pizza – before Bob updated his packed to match what I might have to say!

It’s easy. First, follow the instructions and combine the yeast packet with the water. Then, after it’s set, add the egg and olive oil according to the directions. In your mixer, using your dough attachment, add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients. Now, this is where I used to vary from the instructions. Maybe it’s the altitude where I live, or maybe it’s just my tastebuds (and my husbands) but this recipe needed more water. I think the recipe used to call for 1 cup, and now it calls for closer to 1 1/4-1/2 a cup of water. I use 1 1/2 cups of water.

When it comes to rolling the crust, it’s this part took me some creative ways to figure out. Bob’s Red Mill used to suggest using your hands that have water on them – no, don’t do that.

Roll out the curst between two sheets of plastic wrap. It’s so much easier to manage and lift onto the pizza pan.

Okay, set your oven to 415 degrees and dust your pizza pan with the corn meal.

Cheese Topping

Time for the cheese mixture. Grate the cheese and mix with the mayo, garlic, and hot sauce. Mix well and add in the salt and pepper.

Bake the crust for 8 minutes then take out of the oven and top with the mixture (the mixture makes enough to cover two 12 inch pies, so the whole pack of Bob’s Red Mill Pizza Crust). Bake for another 10-12 minutes.
