Recipe: Green Sprinkle Rice Krispies

Green sprinkle rice krispies! They’re the best way to celebrate the 17th of March. No, not a beer person, but these green treats I’d eat any day! Okay, let’s get baking up this marshmallow goodness.

Ingredients

  • 15 oz of marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of vanilla
  • 8 cups of gluten free rice krispies
  • 1 cup of white chocolate candy melts
  • 1/4 cup of green colourful sprinkles

First, get out a large pan – 9×13 and give it a quick spray or line it with parchment paper. I prefer giving it a spray with pam, yet you pick.

Next, in a large pot melt the stick of butter and add in the 15 oz of marshmallows (about 50 large mallows). Stir with a spoon on medium to low heat until the mallows are melted. Then add in the vanilla.

Once it’s all combined, add in the puffed rice one cup at a time. Stir until everything is well combined.

Then, when everything is well mixed, press into the greased pan and chill for about an hour.

Treat Time

Now, time for the white chocolate and sprinkle topping! Melt the white chocolate melts in the microwave as you usually would, then drizzle on top of the chilled rice krispies. Then, quickly top with the green colourful sprinkles. You might need to move a little quickly with the sprinkles, that way they stick to the melted chocolate.

Then, cut and eat up! Oh, and freeze them if you like, too – they’re good frozen.

Well, there you have it, bright green sprinkle rice krispies! These are chewy (and gluten free!), and worth chilling. I know, you’ll want to eat it right out of the pot, yet chill them. The coldness makes them that much chewier. So good.

Get out your dutch oven and get baking. See you again soon.
