Recipe: Southwest Dressing
This southwest dressing is quick and easy. You probably have the 5 ingredients (plus spices, mind you) in your pantry or fridge. It’s not very often that I feel like southwest dressing so I don’t buy it. Okay, let’s get to it so we can eat up!
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of mayo
- 1 tablespoon of greek yogurt
- 2 teaspoons of agave
- 1 teaspoon of water
- 1/2 teaspoon of white vinegar and lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon of onion and garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of cilantro
- 1/4 teaspoon of bird’s eye chili
- 1 teaspoon of chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin
- salt to taste
Okay – get out a bowl and mix everything together. This is enough to dress a salad for 2 people. Feel free to double or triple the recipe!
Using quality spices is key – the silk road is the best place to get spices. And, if you’re in Canada, lucky you, since they ship spices – yahoo!
They also have wonderful sets around the holiday season, just in case you need a last minute gift for someone. The jars are awesome, too. They stack well and hold up over time.
Check out the bird’s eye chili up close – look at all the little bits of goodness.
Here’s the back story on the chili.
Okay, now that we’ve got the spices talk down, time to mix it all up.
Once it’s well blended, it’ll keep in the fridge for about 4 days. So, don’t hesitate to triple the recipe from time to time if you like it.
Look at all that heat packed in there. Well, that’s it, you’re done! Eat on a salad, on a burrito bowl, on just with veggies. It’ll be good any way you choose!
For us, it’s on these burrito bowls – I’ll share the recipe soon.
Thanks so much for visiting and I’ll see you again soon. Happy cooking!
