    Travel: Northern Lights

The Northern Lights in Yellowknife! We visited Yellowknife in early February had a lot of fun – we visited the flags of the Northwest Territories, drove on ice roads and saw the aurora borealis. Something to note – you can’t always see them. The lights may be there, bouncing around and shining away, yet the clouds will be blocking your view. Here are some tips that I wish I would have know before venturing out onto the ice to see the Northern Lights. Tips You…

    Travel: Yellowknife

Yellowknife – such a northern place and so beautiful. In early February we ventured up to the Northwest Territories to see the Northern Lights – that post is next. We quickly found out that Yellowknife is visited by more than 7000 visitors each month. Yes, in a month! The small little city is full of people from all over the world. We stayed warm and took pictures when our hands weren’t freezing. First – we drove and stayed in High Level on the way there…

Travel: Beach in Hoi An Vietnam

The beach in Hoi An Vietnam is such a relaxing place. It’s not too busy and the water is warm in May. One thing to watch out for – you have to pay to sit at the luxury chairs. No signs, or at least there weren’t any signs when we were there. Then we got yelled at as we left – it was kind of funny, actually. Okay, let’s get to relaxing! The Beach We rode our bikes to the beach and paid 1$ to…

Travel: Birthday in Ho Chi Minh City

Birthday in Ho Chi Minh City – where I turned one marvellous year older. Since I planned the hotels before hand, I knew where we’d be for my birthday in late April – Vietnam! This restaurant, Noir, has excellent reviews and a top chef. The trick? You eat in the dark! 100% blackness. The lady next to us had to remove her watch because the little hands glowed. You wouldn’t believe what your senses are like when you’re eating in the dark – you should…

Travel: Museum of Fine Arts Ho Chi Minh City

On our visit to Ho Chi Minh City we visited the Museum of Fine Arts – such a joy. Museum of Fine Arts The museum is open everyday, except Mondays, from 9am – 5pm. Also, no breaks for lunch, which makes it the perfect place to visit for a couple of hours between your other sites. Beautiful art with historical influence. This piece I love – it’s so fun and full of movement. Sculpting is so amazing. This bust is one of the most beautiful…

    Travel: Travel Cambodia by Bus

Travelling Cambodia by bus is actually quite enjoyable. It’s cost effective and efficient. The company I would trust is Giant Ibis – we used them 4 times and all times were amazing, enjoyable and comfortable. Now, this post shows pictures of our return trip from Sihanoukville to Phnom Penh. We took a full sized bus from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh, the mini below from Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville and back and then a full sized bus from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City.…
