    Photos: Pacific Costal Highway

Pacific Costal Highway The highway was beautiful – I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking. We travelled down the Pacific Costal Highway over a couple of days – it was a little tricky in our Boler, yet Bryce managed well. Be sure to stop a long the way, enjoy the ride and take in the view. Elephant seals on the coast – playing and swimming ashore. Something funny – there are campsites right on the shore, you won’t be able to sleep much…

    Photos: Farmfair International 2013

What did you do this past weekend? Us – we attended the Farmfair International. Just in time to kick off the CFR week. Farmfair International Horse Ranch Competition and Stock Dog Competition. A lot of vendors and ranches who brought their cows to show. This one is getting a bath! This guy, well, he needs to smile less if he’s going to win…those are some teeth! Lots of events. Farm up! Farmfair International is a great time. You get to stay warm, which is pretty…

    Photos: LA Zoo

LA Zoo Our visit to the LA Zoo in early October – we got there at 9:50 and were greeted by flamingos rushing towards us! So fun. This Koala is such a cute little site…he climbed on the roof of his structure. He got stuck and it took him about 5 minutes to try and figure out how to get back down – it was my favourite experience of the whole day. Plus, seeing a Koala makes me think of Sheldon Cooper and his Koala…

Fashion & Fabric District – Downtown LA

Buying fabric in Canada can be limiting at times. Very few stores and very few different products. When Bryce and I decided we’d take a small vacation in October I wanted to visit either New York City or Los Angeles (yes, both have fashion/fabric districts). Together we decided on LA – neither one of us had ever been there before, the flights from Edmonton were 3 hours (not like the red-eyes we’d be taking to New York City), and well, the weather was beautiful. Below…

    CalTech…I’m a nerd!

CalTech Some people like to visit stadiums in cities they visit, museums or even local landmarks. Me, I live to visit university campuses – I’m a nerd, I know. I was 12 when my dad took me and my brother to Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. He had a coaches football conference and I got to wander the university (taking pictures on a very old camera)…I felt inspired, like I was a part of a secret or inner world. When it came time to…

Los Angeles Shopping…The Grove & Rodeo Drive

The Grove Where to shop in Los Angeles?…The Grove!  My mom visited LA a few years ago and raved about The Grove, plus, I think TMZ films there from time to time. Lots of places to shop and lots of places to eat. Gossip is a pretty big thing in LA, as well as in a 15 year olds life, but I’m not 15, so LA it is! The television show Extra brings a lot of celebrity gossip, entertainment news and celebrity photos right into…

    Food Truck Wonderland

Edmonton has maybe a handful of food trucks – nothing too exciting. Popular shows, such as Eat St. and The Great Food Truck Race have made the mobile kitchen quite an intriguing dining experience. So, being in LA we had to buckle and eat off the street!  This location?  The Foothills in Sunland (metro Los Angeles) California. The Green Truck above – all organic and lots of vegan options. We arrived at 4:30 and most trucks opened around 5 – the best part, we got…
