Travel: Braud and Co.
Braud and Co. is a must, like an absolute must if you’re a pastry, snack, or food loving person. These delicate (and sometimes vegan) treats are so good – so good we went twice! The one downside, nothing is gluten free. Oh, the coffee is, but that’s not much fun stacked up against their famous cinnamon roll. Okay, let’s check out this sweet eat shop.
Braud and Co.
They have a few locations around the city, yet we only ventured into the main one off the Laugavegur, on FrakkastÃgur. They were even open on the holiday Monday – and they’ve been open for about 9 years. The FrakkastÃgur location is their flagship store, the first one they ever opened. Okay, let’s see some photos and then I’ll share what’s a must get.
Oh, know that you’ll take your treats to-go – there are only 4-6 seats inside, and no washrooms. Take your snacks up to the park and enjoy the people watching. Okay, photos!
Okay, if you do visit this bake shop, you won’t be disappointed if you order the cinnamon roll. If you only get one thing, get that – seriously. If you’re looking for a few other snacks, the croissants are flaky and puffed to perfection. Lastly, if you’re getting a coffee and want something in addition to your roll (since you know you’re getting one!), then grab a danish!
Also, know it’s a tad bit expensive, yet so worth it. I think the cinnamon roll was about $8 Canadian, so not overly expensive, given it’s Iceland, yet don’t get caught off guard.
All in all, Braud and Co. is a must for snacks, for breakfast, or any time you’re in the mood for a treat. Small reminder to try the cinnamon roll! Not to worry if you forget, ask for what’s most popular and you’ll get a roll for sure.
