Travel: Castle Hill Reserve
Castle Hill Reserve is a tail system in Townsville, Queensland. It’s full of breathtaking views of the city and will keep your heart betting! We saw so many people on the trails and it’s no wonder, since it’s a workout with some of the best views around. Check out some photos below.
Castle Hill Reserve
First, you can drive up which allows for access, which is nice. Second, there are over 7 or more trails – check out All Trails for all the details. We did the following trails in Castle Hill:
- Maidenhair Track
- Erythrine Track
- Goat Track Summit Trail
- Cudtheringa Track
A total of more than 11km, we worked up a sweat for sure – check out the photo of us before and the one at the top – we’re so sweaty!
The trail is beautiful and well maintained. It’s a mix of stairs, wall walks, and some short bush trails. The trail will most certainly keep you on your toes. Look at all those stairs – we saw some people running them, up and down – up and down, no way I’m that fit. My legs would give out after one up and down.
See that huge rock face? We hiked around it, but up to the top. That’s right, all the way to the top. Luckily they have water fountains at the lookout. The day we hiked was also a bit breezy, which was so nice.
The view from the top! Look at all the tennis courts, the lush green landscape, and the shallow waters – stunning!
Okay – here’s one from the top of the whole view – the city to the left and the bay to the right. The hike was so much work and worth the pizza afterwards!
Well, there you have it, our hikes up the Castle Hill Reserve.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you again soon! Happy travelling.
