Travel: Cenote Ik Kil Mexico
It’s the Ik Kil Cenote in Mexico – the host of Red Bull diving a few years back. Not only is this place so much fun, it’s absolutely beautiful.
Cenote Ik Kil
After we visited Chichen Itza we stopped here – it was the perfect way to cool off and have some fun.
This is what the cenote – meaning sink hole – looks like from above. We’re on the ground level and the water is a huge hole in the ground. It’s all natural spring water.
The sky looks so far away and those vines are surreal. The plant life is wild and awesome.
The water is warm and dark, yet very clean. I say dark because there isn’t a lot of light from above and it’s over 40 meters deep, so it’s dark.
Here’s me – jumping from a 25 foot platform. It felt so high! Watch me take a step back because I’m scare. Then the dude starts counting – how do you no jump when someone counts you down. You just go for it.
It’s the light and all the greenery just so pretty? I felt so connected to nature – yes, that might sound silly, yet it’s peaceful even though there are so many people around.
Well, there you have it. Our visit to the Ik Kil Cenote in Mexcio. If you get the chance to visit, I suggest you do. We were told by a few locals that it’s one of the most beautiful cenotes in Mexcio.
Happy travelling – see you again soon.
