Travel: Doha Snapshot

Doha Snapshot

Doha snapshot! That’s right, the capital of Qatar is where we just finished spending a few days. The highlight?! Education City. Top schools from around the world have satellite campuses that are focused on business, leadership, and engineering. The grounds are stunning, the library is magnificent, and the art is beautiful. Plus, the architecture, as you can see above, is unmatched.

Okay, let’s check out some other photos of Doha.

Here’s the library, though, before we move on to other things. Look at that light?! The building has books and books for what feels like miles. They’re arranged in an open and accessible way – plus, there are interactive displays around the library and a history exhibit in the openness of the lower level.

Up next, an art museum – one of the features was a ‘I swear I saw that’ display. It was funny since two of the works I had commented to Bryce that they reminded me of other works. Then, we turned around and the piece below was on the wall. It’s funny when it fits – when art makes an impact that aligns with the intension. Cool, eh.

Lastly, let’s not forget about the souqs and the food.

The food was delicious. From falafel to paneer, we had some amazing food in Doha.

If you’re ever in the area – like even a 4 hour flight – visit. It’s so worth it, it’s been my favourite place so far on our trip to the Middle East. And, if you’re a soccer (aka, football) fan, then you know that Qatar hosted the 2022 World Cup. They’re very proud and have mini displays in various parts of the city. The national library, for example, has a display on the upper floors about the World Cup. And, Education City is home to one of the venues. So neat.

Well, there you have it, a Doha snapshot. Thanks for stopping by and happy travelling!
