Travel: Kettle Yard House
Kettle Yard House – it’s stunning and very much the house of an artist. It’s worth paying the cost of admission to check out this wonderfully curated space. From the pop of yellow with the lemon to the simplistic nature of the furniture placement, be sure to check this place out.
Kettle Yard House
First up, you’ll most likely need to buy tickets ahead of time online and reserve a time slot. They only let people into the house at certain intervals and give you a bit of a briefing, which is helpful. Then, you’re sent off and get to explore at your own pace.
The house is cozy, has stunning natural light (visit on a sunny day, if you can) and reminds me of the wood and warm finishes we like in our own home. Okay, photo time!
Neat, eh?! It’s pretty cool. The light, the warm tones, and the floors are what I’m drawn to. Also, when you visit, you can sit and take it all in as your own pace, no need to rush through.
The room above was my favourite, probably because of the openness, not only from the vastness of the room, but also because of the skylights above and all the natural sunlight coming in. Gives a feeling of connectedness. It’s awesome.
Above is a painting for sale from the Artists at Kettle Yard – one red dot. The lemon is a tribute to the House, which is a neat little backstory you’ll get if you visit.
The House is also beautiful from the outside, too.
Ah – that’s us, having a grand time checking out this space. So fun.
Well, there you have it – the Kettle Yard House. Check it out if you’re in the Cambridge area – you’ll be happy you did.
Thanks for stopping by, and happy travelling. See you again soon.
