Skyview Tower

Skyview Tower! We didn’t even know this place existed until we saw it across from our lunch spot one afternoon. I’ll warn you: you have to walk, step-by-step (ooh, baby!) It’s not the most exciting view; however, it does give you a nice outlook of Dublin. The city is relatively flat and doesn’t have much towering infrastructure. Okay, let’s check out the photos.

Skyview Tower

First up, the tower itself is old and very cool. It’s about 5 euros to climb up, and we only saw two other people on our visit, which lasted about 30 minutes – 10 or so of which was climbing the 125+ steps.

Oh, and when you walk up, there are small little numbers on the step – yet somewhere in the last 1/3 or so they stop counting. I was like, no – I need to know how many more! It’s wild to think how one can be motivated to finish when they see the end of the line, yet without that same awareness, the motivation is more difficult to find. All in all, though, it wasn’t to bad of a hike up.

When you get to the top, there are a couple of floors that you can take a look around. See what I mean about it being quite flat? The cool thing is you get to see a variety of flats – a handful of places have rooftop gardens and some well-developed courtyards. That part is neat – seeing how the locals live. Very cool.

If you’re in the area and are looking for something quick to do, then check it out – it’s neat. Especially so if you don’t get to make it to the Guinness Storehouse, which also has a good view. If you’re visiting the brewery, then feel free to skip this sight, yet if you don’t get tickets (so many people were turned away from the Guinness Storehouse) then you might want to check this place out, especially for the views!

Okay – thanks for visiting, and I’ll see you again soon!

Happy travelling.
