Travel: Phoenix Park

Phoenix Park – it’s a massive and awesome park in Dublin. It’s home to the Dublin Zoo, a Tea Room (we didn’t visit this; someone asked us for directions to it, though) and a lot of stunning flowers. Okay, let’s check out some of the highlights of Phoenix Park.

Phoenix Park

First, we visited quite early – around 8:45am – 9:00am on a Friday morning, and it wasn’t busy at all. Some runners, a few people walking, and one person on a bike. No dogs, which I found surprising, really. However, the quiet was nice. We got to venture onto the grass and check out the flowers up close.

If you’re walking to the Dublin Zoo, then be sure to walk through the park. It’s the best route. If you’re up for it, you can even rent bikes! We’re fans of walking, though – you can get off the path and explore a little more that way. Okay, more photos.

Oh, before more photos, this one below is odd – I had to jump to take that photo, and I’m not really sure who can see it – cars driving by are shorter than my jump, given I’m up on the curb and standing. Strange to spend so much detail on an arrangement and landscaping that it’s hardly enjoyable up close. Interesting, don’t you think? Okay, now photo time!

These fuchsia tulips and bright sunny freesias were stunning; I had to jump on the grass and take a close-up! And yes, they did smell fabulous!

Don’t the tulips look like silk?! Wild.

We visited a lot of parks in Dublin – more on those soon – and it’s one of my favourite places to walk around, explore, and people watch. You never know, you just might get invited to tea!
