Travel: Tofino Snapshot
Tofino snapshot – we spent a glorious long weekend in Tofino at the end of April. Beautiful hiking, delicious food, and the best company I could ask for! Check out a few photos and I’ll be sure to share more soon.
Tofino Snapshot
You might know we’ve been to Vancouver Island before – hiking the West Coast Trail was an epic experience – but we’ve never been to the northern part of the Pacific Rim National Park. Tofino has a laidback vibe, full of easy going people, and the type of atmosphere were it’s okay to sleep in and take your time.
We hiked a lot, various trails and saw ancient cedars, some bald eagles, and some interesting ocean creatures. My favourite part? The weather was fantastic! It rained at night, keeping things cool, yet was bright and sunny, but not too hot, during the day.
The photo below is from a hike just south of Tofino in Ucluelet – they have some of the best trees, bigger ones than you might see in the National Park. The ranger at the Visitor’s Centre was super-duper helpful. All in all, be sure you bring comfy shoes so you can take a stroll or two and experience nature.
The photo above if the beach just down from our lodge – about a 90 second hike from the door to the beach! It’s a great place to walk, see dogs playing, and enjoy a warm cup of coffee.
Below, that’s us parking at some soccer fields and walking a short bit to the trailhead. I’ve got my pack filled with a delicious lunch and we’re ready to go! Snacks are one of my favourite things about hiking! Anyone else love snacks?
Overall, we had a blast in Tofino – and this Tofino snapshot isn’t the last you’ll see of the beautiful island. Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you again soon!
Happy hiking!!
