Travel: Ucluelet Aquarium
The Ucluelet Aquarium is worth the stop. This catch and release aquarium is one of a kind. On the Saturday morning after breakfast I was reviewing the map, expecting to do the lighthouse loop, and saw tat Ucluelet had an aquarium. Such a great pivot to visit these under the sea creatures. Okay, let’s check out some photos!
Ucluelet Aquarium
We did two laps around the open tank, and you could expect to spend about 30-45 minutes here, if you take your time. They even have a red octopus, we saw him, yet he moved too fast before I got a photo and then slept for the rest of our visit.
Okay – time for the sea creatures! First, check out this little guy – can you see him?!
Look at this starfish, just hanging out – we saw him move, it was super neat.
The wall is between two tanks, so I was curious as to whether or not he was crawling up, or sliding down. Either way, he looks like he’s having fun and that’s all that really matters, right?!
Oh, and let’s not forget about all the fun facts. We took our time and I like to read all the signs, learn a bit, and understand what I’m looking at, since most times I don’t know!
Now for some colour – look at all this brightness. I find it hard to believe that these beautiful creatures are just off the west coast of Canada. Not too sure why I find it hard to believe, perhaps because the water is super-duper cold?!
Well, there you have it – the Ucluelet Aquarium. In full bright colours to teach you a thing or two about the ocean. If you need a break from hiking, then be sure to check out the aquarium, you’ll enjoy it!
Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you again soon.
