Travel: Urangan Pier
Urangan Pier – it’s the perfect place to watch the sunset in Hervey Bay or catch people fishing, enjoy the breeze and stay cool on a warm summer day. We walked the longer path and did the Esplanade Trail a few km back and the scenery was nice. Okay, let’s check out some photos.
Urangan Pier
Here’s a map of the trail, you can see the shorter end we started at, walked to the pier, and the continued on a bit, until it got too dark and we made our way back.
The beach is really nice along the pier, too. We saw a few dog owners in the water playing with their pups. It was so cute. One lady was on a yellow tube and her dog kept trying to jump up on her, too funny!
Looking for history on the pier? It’s been around for over 100 years – wild, eh!
We saw so many people fishing on the pier, some riding bikes, and others just sitting on benches and enjoying the cool breeze. Don’t forget your hat or sunscreen, there isn’t much sun protection out on the pier!
You can see we wore blue to match the sky. I forgot my hat, though, hence the popped collar to keep the sun off my neck. The Australian sun is no joke, not even right before dusk. Okay – here are some shots of the full pier.
Well, there you have it, the Urangan Pier! There aren’t many benches, so bring a chair if you’re looking to sit back and enjoy the sunset, or if you’re up for it, sit on the edge and dangle your legs over.
Overall, it’s a nice walk and you’ll most likely see some fish, too!
Thanks for stopping by and happy travelling. Enjoy this sight in Hervey Bay if you visit.
