No, no new baby for me – another person at work is having a baby…what fun! This time she doesn’t know if she’s having a boy or a girl, so I picked out these fun Paddington Bear prints for a neutral gender. Yes, there may be a lot of blue, but what little girl doesn’t like the British Bear? He’s adorable!

The trick to making great burp cloths, or anything for that matter, is the fabric. These are getting some soft chenille which will not only soak up all the messes, but also feel soft and cozy against the skin. Berber chenille is also a favourite of mine. In a pinch, I’ll use diaper cloth, but double it up for comfort. Sometimes I even triple it. You’ll know the right fabric when you find it.

The only change on this set is that I used my serger to sew the sides together…it works far faster.

Fold up, gift up and let the little ones use them up!

Enjoy and happy sewing.
