Recipe: Pumpkin Spiced Bars
It’s that time of year again – fall. The leaves fall, the air gives you a chill, and everything pumpkin comes out to play. This is a bit of a mash-up of some recipes – the pretzel bottom is from my deadly brownies and my crumble topping is from September’s skillet apple crumble. So – here is what you’ll need: Ingredients Bottom 3 cups of crushed pretzels 1 cup of melted butter 1/2 cup of sugar Pumpkin Mix 2 cups of pumpkin puree 1/2 cup…

Fruity Juicy
This juice packs a punch – perfect for a fresh start morning. All fruit with a bit of parsley…and ginger – I don’t think ginger is a fruit! Fruity Juicy Juice it up! A great thing about this juicer, you don’t need to cut the veggies or fruit up very much…saves time! This one was so good. The green apple and the lemon add some sourness to it…mmm. Green goodness. I think it tasted like a green apple sour candy. My husband laughed at me…it’s…

Ritz Rolo Snack
Today’s snack… Both salty and sweet! The next time you’re at the grocery store pick up a box of Ritz and some Rolos…you’ll be happy you did! Ritz Rolo Snack A box has about 60 crackers…I made 24 sandwiches…that’s how many fit on our pan. Set the oven to 350 degrees. Lay out the Ritz face down and put a rolo on each one. Bake for 9 minutes. Keep an eye on them…you don’t want the rolo to melt all over the Ritz…you just want…

Eating well is important for our bodies, our health and our overall well being. We purchased our Omega juicer about 2 weeks ago and have used it every day since! The Omega is great because it does hard root vegetables like beets and sweet potatoes, yet is also able to do leafy greens like…

Sunday dessert – what’s better than skillet apple crumble? Last weekend I made lamb roast and salad – we hung out and ate with the football game on. We were too full for dessert right away. We live in the country so when it gets dark and quite it’s the perfect time to watch a movie…Lincoln was the pick – and boy, was it ever good. Such an all star cast. What made it better? Skillet apple crumble! Ingredients 1 3/4 cups of flour 2…

Recipe: Lamb Roast
Lamb is a great meat to work with. Last October I made leg of lamb and everyone loved it. This time, I wanted to try something a little more Indian inspired. So, with a lamb roast, it’s shoulder, (1.3 Kg) I made an Indian spiced rub and roasted it up. Rub Ingredients 1 teaspoon of minced garlic 1 1/2 teaspoons of cumin and chili powder 2 teaspoons of mustard seed 3 teaspoons of chopped cilantro 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil Mix all the rub ingredients…
