Movie treats – candy. That’s right, it’s candy time. Oh, and most of it is gluten free, so that’s a bonus.
In mid-August my brother and his wife visited us in Edmonton and it was so much fun. Hiking, shopping, corn mazes and escape rooms (we got out!!) just to mention a few highlights. One of the best parts, they got us a GC to the Keg so last Sunday we decided to have a little date night. Off to the movies to see War Dogs (I love movies based on or inspired by true stories) and then the Keg for dinner after.
Bryce had been working in the yard most of the day and although we had a late lunch I knew we’d be hungry before the movie was over. On Saturday I had been doing some running around and got some candy at bulk barn – dino sours (not GF), sour keys and fruit gummies (both GF). Oh, and sweet ropes (not GF, but so good, I’m told). The plan – to make us some movie treat bags and enjoy our date night in style.
What You Need
- 1 cup dino sours
- 1 cup fruit gummies
- 1 cup sour keys
- 2 small plastic bags
- 2 treat items (sweet ropes)
Lay out all the candy – so much candy!
Build the bags in layers and put in your treat items – it’s best if they’re tall, since they’ll look pretty that way, then tie with the ribbon.
Oh – leftovers!
With the leftovers I made a ‘welcome home’ treat for Bryce on Saturday.
Done – the best movie treats – candy, that you’ll ever have. Oh, and it only costs $4.00 per bag ($4.00 for the leftovers, too). Way cheaper than at the movies.
Overall our date night was awesome and the movie was pretty good, too. Thanks for stopping by and I’ll see you again soon.
