Holiday treats 2024! Treats are a big perk of the holidays, from Christmas, to New Years, treats seem to taste even better, don’t you agree?! This year we brought back a few old goodies, from super fudgy brownies, to holiday crack, these treats are sure to please. Okay, let’s bake up!

Which one do you think would be your favourite? Me, it’s the caramel twists and the holiday crack, then the brownies, followed by the cookies. Don’t get me wrong, the cookies are so good, it’s just that we have cookies more so than the other treats.

If you’re looking for the fastest recipe, it’s probably the brownies. The cookie dough needs about 2 hours to chill, and the twists take 45 minutes in the oven (low and slow). The crack also takes time to chill in the freezer to set – yet, they’ll be a close second after the brownies (which also need some cool time).

The loaded brownies are super fun, though. I’ve made ones with colourful sprinkles for Canada Day and Independence Day in past years – dressing brownies up with sprinkles is a way to bring in some festive colour. The ruffled plain potato chip ones are a great combo of sweet and salty, though.

Perhaps next time I’ll try some colourful strawberries or raspberries. You know what else would be good, gluten free pretzels, or even some broken up pieces of holiday crack. Caramel, marshmallows with graham cracker bits would also be good, and so would cheesecake brownies. Oh my goodness, what about cookie dough brownies? Okay, I think I need to jump back into the kitchen, don’t you think?
