Travel: Little Qualicum Falls
Little Qualicum Falls hike – it’s just outside of Victoria and a great place to hike, have a picnic, and stretch your legs. The rushing water is calming and the greenery is rich. Check out our photos below and hike up! First, the map – there are many small trails along the falls, check out the one that interests you the most, or visit them all! We visited both the lower and upper falls. So awesome! Little Qualicum Falls The area is fenced, so bring…

Travel: 3 Days in Victoria
Yes, 3 days in Victoria! That’s honestly all you need. This city is less than 100,000 people and it’s easily walkable if the weather is nice. Looking for a place to say? Check out this place in the harbour. We visited Beacon Hill Park and saw so many plants, flowers, and birds – it was so much fun. Plus, a nice needed walk after our hike. Check out how colourful this peacock is – he came right up to us. I’ve heard they can be…

Travel: Royal British Columbia Museum
The Royal British Columbia Museum is a great place to spend the morning if you’re out and about in Victoria. Plus, the IMax is usually a fun experience. Royal British Columbia Museum On the day we visited, May 17, it was the very first day of the Mayan Exhibit. Pretty neat seeing as how we just visited Mexico this past winter. Something that was interesting is that on the plaques on the walls, like at most museums, they had little stories. Well, some of them…

Travel: Victoria Eats
Victoria eats 2019 – some of our favourite places to eat in Victoria. We had some places we didn’t enjoy so much (Cafe Mexico, Be Love) yet they’d still get a 6/10. Just not worth it in my opinion. All of these places below – at least an 8 or 9, if not 10 out of 10. First up, La Taqueria Pinche Taco Shop. They’re open late and offer some upscale tacos that bring some big flavours. This is the same chain from our Vancouver…

Travel: Embassy Inn Review
Staying in the harbour area of Victoria can be expensive, yet it’s worth it for the walk ability around the downtown area. There are so many parks, palaces to see, and delicious restaurants. The Embassy Inn offered a fair value and is a clean hotel. We paid 145$ per night, since I booked back in January and took advantage of the 35% off if I paid at the time of booking. Score! We got a room with two beds since we had all of our…

Travel: British Columbia Parliament Buildings
The British Columbia Parliament Buildings are the centre of Victoria – it faces the harbour and ties the city together. In Alberta, the Legislative Buildings aren’t as central, since they’re tucked away and sort of out of site. I like how in Victoria the buildings aren’t shy. Inside you can get free tours or take yourself on the self-guided tour – they have a lot of info on their visiting the legislature site. The older I get the more fascinating I find the political history…

Travel: Victoria Snapshot
Victoria snapshot – here you go. After hiking the West Coast Trail we spent a few relaxing days sightseeing in Victoria, British Columbia. We visited the Royal BC Museum, the Legislative Building and a few parks. Oh, and the food – a few hot spots I’ll for sure share in a Victoria Eats post soon. The neatest thing, though, was mile zero of the Trans-Canada Highway. Such a neat little sign – too cool to miss if you’re ever in the area. Victoria Snapshot The…
