Travel: Brisbane City Hall Clock Tower

Brisbane City Hall Clock Tower

Brisbane City Hall Clock Tower. This place is a great way to see the City of Brisbane, plus, the elevator ride up is full of fun facts and a brief history. Be sure to check it out – okay, photo time!

We visited the clock tower after booking our tickets online. We didn’t know it was a thing until we visited the City Hall of Brisbane for its tour. It’s fun how not everything is planned, eh?!

The clock tower is right at City Hall – it has an observation deck at the top and it’s a beautiful way to see the city.

The elevator is quite old and takes you from the top of the building up to the observation lookout. It’s rickety and manually operated. A piece of history, that’s for sure.

Can you see the clock through the grates?!

Once you hit the observation deck, you’ll get to spend about 12 minutes outside looking around, taking photos, and checking out all sides of the clock tower. We quite enjoyed visiting on our second last day in Brisbane, since then we could see all the places we’d visited and paths we’d walked.

Below you can see the copper dome, that’s city hall chambers. It’s pretty special and very regal, if you have the chance to check it out, do!

Well, there you have it – the Brisbane City Hall Clock Tower. Be sure to book your spot, since it’s a free tour, they do sell out quickly.

You can see in the middle photo below, how high the clock tower actually looks – especially compared to the photo I took on an angle, which makes the tower look kind of stubby. The tower itself is 92 meters high, and the observation deck is 76 meters – pretty high, about 25 floors!

Thanks for visiting and happy travelling!

Oh, anyone else love visiting observation decks, or high buildings with lookouts?! It’s something I love to do in cities we visit.
