Travel: Brisbane South Bank City Walk
Brisbane South Bank City Walk – it’s a walkabout with city views, walking paths, and many places to grab a snack along the way. From the B-R-I-S-B-A-N-E sign to the ferris wheel, there are some great sights. Okay, let’s check out the photos!
First, we walked across the Kuripla Bridge and did the trail from one end to the other. Check outthe All Trail’s map – South Bank via Clem Jones Promenade.
Brisbane South Bank City Walk
We took this walk before dinner and right around sunset. It was fun to see all the locals and tourists out and about enjoying the summer holiday time. The sign and the ferris wheel most certainly anchor South Bank.
Check out the bridge being built! We crossed the Kuripla Bridge and enjoyed watching the Neville Bonner Bridge pedestrian bridge under construction. Did you know they expect to have 10,000 crossings a day? Wild! I’ll admit I Googled busiest pedestrian crossing to find out it’s the Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo – we’ve been there!
Okay, once you get to South Bank, and after you take a bunch of photos of the city sign, you’ll make your way along the path waterside. It’s calm and full of fun things, like the Streets Beach.
The city sights are stunning in the sunset light. Look at these buildings!
You can see in the photo above, on the left, the boardwalk type path that takes you along South Bank. There are food, coffee, and snack carts all along the way. Worth checking out, that’s for sure.
Well, there you have it – a little City Walk in Brisbane. At the end, we didn’t double back, but crossed the Goodwill Bridge and made our way home along bicentennial bikeway, staying out of wheeled traffics way, of course!
Thanks for stopping by and happy travelling!
