Travel: Cambridge Sights
Cambridge sights – this culturally packed city in the United Kingdom, about 100km north of London, is worth checking out. It’s full of history, good food, and some amazing sights. On our first night together in the city, we had fish and chips (well, Bryce had halloumi), took a nice walk, and enjoyed the warm spring air. Okay, let’s check out some of these Cambridge sights.
Cambridge Sights
First, there are so many fun tidbits of history around. If you’re not looking out for them or don’t know they exist, you’ll miss them. Like this DNA plaque. It’s on the outside of a bar, of all places. Cool, eh?!
Also, I’m sure you know about the clock, the Corpus Clock to be exact. It’s outside of the Taylor Library, yet you can’t really miss it – so many people will be taking photos of it. Now, what is it exactly? It’s a clock that doesn’t have any numbers or hands, but rather a large grasshopper that seems like it’s eating time. The time is displayed by blue lights shining through the slits on the lock – you can see below, it’s about 7:45pm. Neat, eh?!
Up next, we spent some time walking around the city, from King’s College to punting on the River Cam, and the tulips were in full bloom. The days were beautiful, and we most certainly got our steps in.
Well, there you have it, a few Cambridge sights! The city is worth checking out if you’re in the area, and be sure to visit Ryder and Amies, the official clothing store for the University of Cambridge.
Happy travelling! Oh, and be sure to stop by again soon. I’ll share a few other highlights from our trip to Cambridge, including some great spots to eat, a few must-sees, and what it’s like staying on campus.
