Travel: Cork Snapshot

Cork snapshot – that’s right, two days in Cork, the food capital of Ireland. We visited the English Market and had some fabulous Irish food. Plus, we checked out a castle and kissed a stone, haha. Okay, onward to check out some of our photos. I’ll, of course, share more in-depth later. For now, here’s a snapshot. Photo time!
Cork Snapshot
First up, Saint Patrick Street – this place is busting and has some stunning street art. Oh, and if you’re in the mood for shopping, then for sure checkout this street. The street art is captured above, and below is a monument right around the corner from Saint Patrick Street, highlighting some of Cork’s history.
If you have time, be sure to check out Blarney Castle, and give yourself time to view all the gardens. It’s way faster if you drive there, yet not everyone will rent a car when travelling in Ireland, which is understandable. We did the Blarney Stone first thing to beat the crowds, which also saves time.
Oh, and if you do arrive early, you can street park and save a few Euros – we did and enjoyed the short walk (about 5 minutes) from the city centre. We got to see the neighbourhood up close and people watch – so many dogs out for walks!
Okay, we also climbed a church tower, rang the bells, and visited the English Market.
Lastly, visited a very Gothic-style church, St. Fin Barre’s Church and did some hiking in Killarney National Park. All in all, a great visit to Cork.
Well, there you have it, our two days in Cork Snapshot – have you been?! If you haven’t, it’s worth checking out. The food scene is worth checking out in Cork alone, the culture and its history is a bonus.
Thanks for stopping by, and happy travelling. See you again soon.
