Travel: Galway Snapshot

Travel Ireland

Galway snapshot – that’s right, we’re sharing a few photos of our trip to Galway. From the Cliffs of Moher to the candy shops, Galway is a must see if you’re into sights, culture, and a small town vibe. Oh, and don’t forget your rain jacket! Nothing beats true Irish weather…well, candy does! haha.

First up, the Cliffs of Moher are only about a 90 minute drive from Galway. They’re so close, be sure to visit. If you’re not renting a car, then take a bus, really, it’s worth it. We were a little disappointed at first since the fog was rolling in a lot, but we stuck around for about an hour and got to see the cliffs super well. Plus, it was a bit of a bonus to see the cliffs on a typical rainy day. So very Irish.

After a lot of walking, we headed to Galway and grabbed some Indian food as takeaway – it was so good. Then, after a hot shower, we planned a few outings for the next day (they have an aquarium in Galway!).

First up, a trip to the city centre. It’s full of history, that’s for sure.

The city centre is a lot of fun. We spent a couple of hours checking out shops (did I mention candy?!), seeing some pottery, and even a few wool stores. After that, we popped by the Galway City Museum and enjoyed learning about all the history.

After lunch, we visited the aquarium and then did some sightseeing. Oh, and we stopped at the candy store to buy some bonbons. So good.

The sun came out shortly after lunch and, well, it was kind of bright!

Okay, that’s a bit better.
