Travel: Hima Boutique Siem Reap
Hima Boutique Siem Reap is a delightful hotel with welcoming staff and a cooling pool. It’s fairly inexpensive – we paid about $29.00 Canadian per night and stayed 3 nights. Oh, and free breakfast, which is awesome. Fried rice with a sunny side up egg is a great way to start the day. If only I could make fried rice like that.
Location
The Hima Boutique is located on Taphul Street and is outside of the hustle and bustle of Pub Street or the ‘downtown’ core; however, it’s only a 9 minute walk or a dollar tuk-tuk ride (so I’ve heard – we never took a tuk-tuk while in Siem Reap).
Also, the location is close to where the bus from Bangkok dropped us off. You can see below the map I screen shotted before we crossed the Thailand/Cambodia border just incase we didn’t find a SIM card. The walk from the bus was 12 minutes. Seems short, yet with a full pack it’s a bit long. For some reason or another we didn’t trust the tuk-tuks at the bus drop-off. Follow your intuition – on this trip it kept us safe.
Our Room
We checked in and were assigned one room, then the light in the bathroom didn’t work. They then quickly switched us rooms – purple pillows are better, anyway. The best part about our new room is that we could see right out front and check the status of the pool.
Complimentary breakfast, tea, and water – oh, and cold cloths whenever you get back to the hotel – all awesome little perks.
The Grounds
This was our view on the first day we had breakfast. We are early risers and were up around 6:20 each day – the only ones up that early! Breakfast is from 6-10. On the first day we sat right at the edge at the roof top restaurant. Notice that ‘Try Me’ restaurant across the street – it’s good!
A few shots of us at the Hima Boutique Siem Reap on our last day before breakfast. Simply playing with the camera.
The Pool
A pool is a must in Siem Reap. You will want to cool off in the afternoon between activities or after a long day of temples. We used this pool 5 times in 3 days. Never have I used a pool so many times in such few days. The hotel provides pool towels which is an even better bonus. Oh, and the rain shower in the corner is so cold, be aware!
Overall we had a fabulous time at the Hima Boutique Siem Reap. If you’re visiting Siem Reap, Cambodia, stay here, you’ll have a good time. Thanks for stopping by.
