Travel: Hotel Emporio Mexico City
The Hotel Emporio Mexico City is in the Juárez neighbourhood, full of the city’s hustle and bustle. City centre is walking distance, the rates are fair, and the staff are friendly. Overall, a good place to stay in Mexico City!
When we visited Mexico City in late October, early November the main attraction was the Mexico City Grand Prix. During race weekend (Thursday – Monday) we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Mexico City. That hotel is way, way nicer than this one. Yet the Hotel Emporio is still a good choice. We opted to visit a different neighbourhood so we could walk to the historic districts and enjoy some variety. The one downside is that the air conditioning in our room didn’t seem to keep up with us – we called maintenance and they responded in a timely manner, yet we got the sense the temperature wouldn’t go lower than ~24. Too hot to sleep in for me – I like things cool. Other than that, all was great!

The room we had was basic, nice window with some natural light, a TV, and some space to spread out our things. The room also came with complimentary water bottles since the tap water isn’t drinkable.
The bathroom was also a good size – the door was a little odd, having a inset pivot point (reminded me of something you’d find on a cruise ship, not that I’ve been).
The best parts of the hotel are the friendly staff, the location, and the cafe. The staff had their Day of the Dead displays and I love the authentic aspect of bringing yourself to work and sharing with others.
We had breakfast at the restaurant upstairs and had a few snack breaks at the cafe and people watched. Such a great location!
Overall, if you’re looking for a nice, friendly, and clean place to stay, then the Hotel Emporio Mexico City is a good choice.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you’re having a great week. Anyone else looking forward to their next travel adventure? I am! Bye for now.
