Holiday Napkins

Holiday Napkins: 3ten.ca

Thanksgiving is this weekend – at least in Canada!

What a better time to buy some fun fabric and decorate your holiday table. Yesterday I found a new discount fabric store in Edmonton – and it’s huge! Score!!

That’s where I found this fun wild fowl print.

Perfect for Thanksgiving!

So – a good sized napkin measures around 20×20. I get 4 napkins out of one meter (if it measures 45 inches wide).

Be sure you’ve washed your fabric first!

Set your serger up on it’s rolled hem setting. I have this little quick reference guide that came with my baby lock – it’s so handy!

Also – always practice before you start. As you can see, the rolled hem on either side of my sample is very, very different. On my machine the left one is set on 4 and the right, the much tighter hem, is set to 1. Doing a sample first will help you achieve the look you want.

Roll all four edges and then get the ironing board out.

Now – just clip the corners and use fray check.

Iron them out and fold up.

Set the table…

These cloth napkins are quick and easy to make – and quick and easy to use!

Save the environment and use cloth napkins…they are far cuter, too.

Enjoy your turkey dinner and the wonderful table setting…but most importantly, the company!

Two thumbs up for the long weekend and for great sewing adventures!

Happy Thanksgiving!!
