Travel: Chicago Lunch Eats
Chicago lunch eats – some of these places are just so good. All offer gluten free options and one place, the whole menu is GF. Total Score! Just like Chicago breakfast eats, we had a quick lunch sometimes. It’s better to balance out than to eat too much. Having said that, we do love trying new spots! Chicago Lunch Eats First up, Barrio in River North. This place had such a great menu. Bryce got the crispy chicken sandwich – the best he’s had, he…

Travel: Chicago Street Art
Chicago street art – it’s the best. Sure, fabulous museums house incredible art, however, some of the best art in Chicago can be seen right on the streets. The best spot? Wabash Arts Corridor. Full of beauty. Okay, let’s get started! The Loop First up, The Picasso. I bet you didn’t know that Picasso did sculpture, right? Maybe you did, since you’re a smartie! This piece is 50 feet tall and catches the sun beautifully. What do you think it looks like? To me, I…

Travel: Chicago L Train
The Chicago L train, or usually just the ‘L’ is the best way to get around Chicago. We flew into Chicago O’Hare and stayed in River North. I think all in all we used the ‘L’ 38 times. Yes, on and off 38 times in 5 days. Now, I’ll admit the Ventra card is a little challenging to figure out. Not to mention, the machines are such a hassle, yet if you’re patient and don’t get frustrated, you’ll be good. I’ll share a few tips…

Travel: Chicago Breakfast Eats
Chicago breakfast eats – this is one of the most underrated meals when traveling. Often times if you’re in a city for a while it’s about balance so grabbing a yogurt, or some fruit just makes you feel good. We were in Chicago for 5 days, so 5 breakfasts and we did this twice. I had fruit from Trader Joes and ate while we walked. What you shouldn’t do, though, is fall victim to a contential breakfast for 5 days in a row. No, the…

Travel: Chicago Snapshot
Nestled on the Southwestern corner of Lake Michigan is the city of Chicago. This city is awesome. Full of so much energy and amazing food. I’m so excited to share all the food with you, and the museums. Oh, and all the little quirky things that make Chicago so great. For now, though, here’s just a small glimpse into our 5 day trip – a Chicago snapshot. The Windy City The reason for this trip? Well, we lost a bet. Bryce’s Dad likes watching Top…

Travel: Art Gallery of Algoma
Time for a little look into the Art Gallery of Algoma – the art gallery in my hometown. We recently visited Sault Ste. Marie to hang out with family for a week and my mom took us to the beautiful Roberta Bondar photo exhibit. I remember being in elementary school and about 4 grades of students loaded up on to two busses. The bus drivers had such a hard time trying to find a spot to park. We were there to line the streets with…

Travel: Muttart Conservatory
Last week I shared our visit to the Alberta Legislature Building – doing some travelling in our own town (well, about 45 minutes away). This weekend I’m sharing a little visit we had to Edmonton’s delightful conservatory – the Muttart Conservatory. Four beautiful pyramids, each a different climate: arid, temperate, tropical and then a feature pyramid. Muttart Conservatory First, admission is fairly reasonable. It’s $12.50 per adult, yet when I went with my dad and step-mom the lady at the desk was so kind she…
