Travel: Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital

Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital! Be sure to check it out if you’re visiting the Australia Zoo. It’s an additional 2$ when you buy your tickets and I almost forgot to add it, since the agent didn’t ask. We spent about 5 minutes walking over, and then visited for about 10-15 minutes (I like to read all the signs!). If you have time, it’s worth checking out.

Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital

We saw a tiny kangaroo who lost his mom. They made him a sweet flannel pouch to lay in, the fabric is just too cute. Also, we saw a handful of birds and then all the operating spaces. We didn’t see any major care going on, but the facility is stunning. The animals are most certainly in good care. Okay, photo time!

Aren’t the little giraffes, elephants, and rhinos on this blanket just adorable?!

In the photo above you can see the pile of blankets underneath the pouch, from what we can tell, there’s a heating pad to give the simulation of a warm belly – pretty smart if you ask me!

We saw this girl on our way out – sleeping and resting to get strong. Notice the little laundry basket in the back full of blankets? It was fun to check out all the different and fun patterns, it’s quite sweet, actually, how hard they work to keep the animals comfortable. Heartwarming!

Well, there you have it, the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital. The statute out front is even worth the visit.

Plus, if you’re visiting in the summer like we did, it’s a nice cool and quiet place to simply enjoy and close out your busy zoo day. We visited at the end of our day and it was a wonderful bookend to a memorable day.
