Travel: Vancouver Eats 2026

Vancouver Eats 2026

Vancouver eats 2026! The kale salad was one of the best things I’ve eaten in a long time, and it was at Fable Kitchen during the Dine Out Vancouver Festival – such a great time to visit the city. Okay, below I’ll share one market spot (if you didn’t catch the earlier post) and then two worthwhile dinner spots. They’re very different, yet variety is great! Okay, let’s get to it.

The Lunch Lady is a must if you’re in Vancouver. It books up fast, and it’s on Michelin’s Bib Gourmand list – a well-deserved spot, too.

We made reservations for 8:15pm and the line was quite busy when we walked in – in fact, a few people who didn’t have reservations couldn’t find a table. I’m sure they were disappointed.

It’s very low-key in that the tables are metal and the vibe is laid back, yet the food, not laid back at all. The food is packed full of flavour and leaves you wanting more.

I had the pho – it’s hard to find gluten free pho, so I dove right in.

Other dishes that hit our table – the duck salad and the stir-fried instant noodles.

Oh, and the drinks, even the mocktails, are worth trying! I had an iced Vietnamese coffee, and it was oh, so good.

Up next, a more farm to table, rustic Canadian restaurant, the Fable Kitchen. They had good mocktails, too!

Here, they had a set menu with a few selections for each course. We had the kale salad, mussels, the bison, fish, and the fried mushrooms (so good!) as well as sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The atmosphere is a little more refined than the lunch lady, yet it was a nice night out – and easier to find a reservation at 7pm! haha. Okay, let’s check out the food.

Well, there you have it, Fable Kitchen, also on Michelin’s Bib Gourmand list. For a few years, nonetheless. If you’re up for a treat, the kitchen is open and you can sit at the bar if you like – we’ve done it at other restaurants and it’s a fun experience for sure.

Oh, and don’t let me forget to share the burger place at the market. They have gluten free buns!
