Recipe: Independence Day Sweets
Independence Day Sweets! It’s July 4th and it’s time to celebrate with some red, white, and blue. If you’re in the mood to bake, or perhaps just to add a bit of sparkle to some pre-bought cookies, then you’re covered! Let’s get to it – time for sweets!
Independence Day Sweets
The brownies and the cake pops are two of our favourites. Yet, if you’re looking for something fast, try the treats. Okay, you want to know why the brownies and the cake pops are so good? Because on a hot summer day, if you keep them in the freezer, they’re extra good! Like have a couple of them, they’re that good.
Now, for just some dipping action – you need some melted chocolate and sprinkles, oh, and a treat to dip! If you can’t find the sprinkles you’re looking for at the grocery store (some have single colours) you should check out a speciality store, like Bulk Barn.
Here in Canada they have a variety of colours in these long sprinkle shapes, but also in the glass-water like ones, covering all colours of the rainbow. You can mix them up for holidays (hello St. Patrick’s Day) or for your favourite hockey team. Oh, and I’ve never checked out Amazon, but you can buy pretty much everything on there, so ya!
Let’s check out these treats.
And last, but not least, some blue (yes, blue!) cookies. These have milk chocolate M&Ms on top for a bit of added colour.
Well, there you have it, four recipes to celebrate Independence Day – sweet style!
Be sure to bake up a sweet treat every now and then. And, if you don’t eat then all right out of the oven, try our freezer tip – cool treats are the best. Thanks for stopping by and happy long weekend.
