Travel: 3 Days in Cape Hillsborough
3 days in Cape Hillsborough, Queensland, Australia is the perfect amount of time to enjoy the national park, see some kangaroos, and enjoy the down time. We hiked, snacked, and watched the ocean tide rise and fall, enjoying ever moment. Okay, let’s checkout what we did and some photos!
3 Days in Cape Hillsborough
- Diversity Boardwalk
- McBrides Lookout
- Sunrise on the Beach
- Andrews Point
- Yuibera Trail
- Smalleys Beach Hike
- Cape Hillsborough National Park
The hikes are some of the best – the views, the diversity, and the creatures (some killing!) all make up an incredible experience. Spending time in Cape Hillsborough is worth the out of the way drive. Ah, nature – it’s simply beautiful.
If you only have time for one hike, the Smalleys Beach Hike is our favourite. But, if you’re tight for time, or not an avid hiker, the diversity boardwalk is a great short option – it’s relatively easy and offers some interesting sights. Okay – photo time!
One bonus to staying in the national park at the camp ground is having access to the pool. We hiked on a few hot days – one morning hike, lunch, then another hike in the afternoon. After two hot hikes the pool was so refreshing! One day it was even raining and being in the pool was a lot of fun.
The sunrise on the beach at Cape Hillsborough is also especially beautiful.
Okay – here ares some more photos of our adventures, our hikes, some beach walks, and a whole lot of fun.
