American Thanksgiving 2023. It’s that time of year again, turkey, mashed potatoes, and all the family laughs you can get! I’m not too sure about you, but the last few months have flown by! Okay, let’s get into these recipes.

The above three recipes are my go to ones for thanksgiving or holidays in general. Classic dinner items, then you can spice things up with a salad, side dish, or even a special dessert.

Mashed potatoes are my absolute favourite – they’re the ultimate comfort food! Okay, let’s check out some photos of our holiday dinner.

For dessert during this American Thanksgiving 2023 we had carrot cake cookies. I adapted the recipe from the carrot cake cheesecake we had on the Canadian Thanksgiving. So good!

What’s your go-to thanksgiving recipe? Are you all about the turkey, or perhaps more of a dessert person? For us, we like to keep things around 4-5 dishes, yet usually 4. Having a salad, and a vegetable can be a bit much, don’t you think? Maybe not if you’re having a bigger family gathering that way people have choices, yet with just the two of us, vegetable or salad works well!

Oh, and don’t forget the gravy for the potatoes.

Well, there you have it, one traditional thanksgiving dinner. We often have a lot of leftovers and I’m a fan of hot turkey sandwiches, and even make these golden quesadillas from time to time. Are you a fan of leftovers? For us, it’s about changing things up and not necessarily eating the exact same thing.
